September News letter

How is the school project going?
The foundation for the Catholic School of Helsinki will be submitted to the Finnish Patent and Registration Office for registration in the coming weeks and is expected to be officially registered around late October or early November. Once the foundation is registered, we will be able to open a dedicated bank account for the school and begin accepting donations.

The school now has a website, which we are gradually updating and adding content to over time. The school premises are being designed pro bono by interior architect Pablo Riquelme and his colleague, and in October we will be able to present plans showing what the school spaces will look like.

Registering the foundation and obtaining a business ID (Y-tunnus) is also a key step toward applying for a license to provide basic education and handling other administrative matters. The curriculum still needs some final adjustments, after which we will publish it on the website.

Enrollment for the school is open, and we are happy to answer any questions!

We’d also like to remind you about the family clubs that have already started! The family club meets twice a week—on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 AM to 12 PM—in the parish hall of the Chapel of Saint James the Apostle in Lauttasaari. The club includes open discussion, singing and playtime for babies and toddlers, coffee, tea, and light snacks. We also gather ideas from participants about themes to explore. There is also an opportunity for confession.

We gladly accept donations of children’s books, toys, etc. 😊
